Small intimate course, with a maximum group of 4, that can be tailored to your needs. You will learn how to screenprint on to your choice of either paper or fabric.
Screenprinting is a simple and accessible technique for producing a repeated graphic image or photograph onto paper or fabric using layers of ink. It involves forcing ink through the mesh of a screen onto paper or fabric (or lots of other materials) using a squeegee. Screenprint can produce really exciting results and is a fun and rewarding print process.
You will learn how to screenprint your own images/patterns using a range of techniques, preparing your own designs using hand cut paper stencils, hand drawn images and digitally printed positives. You will then learn how to coat the screen, expose your images onto the screen, mix your own inks and finally print.
Jennifer will demonstrate each technique and provide focused support throughout to help you complete your own set of prints, or meter of fabric, to take away with you on completion.
This is a great opportunity to gain a strong foundation of practical knowledge and we are certain you will leave inspired to continue screenprinting on paper in the future.
