SCREENPRINT ON FABRIC
ONE DAY WORKSHOP
Tutor: Katie Charleson
Saturday 7 September, 10 - 4pm
Sunday 8 September, 10 - 4pm
Full weekend, 7/8 September, 10-4pm
Screenprinting on Fabric is a simple and accessible technique for producing a repeated pattern or image onto fabric using layers to build the design. Ink is forced through the mesh of a screen onto the fabric using a squeegee, allowing a variety of marks, patterns and images to produce really exciting results.
Join us for day workshop and you will learn all the key skills required to print your own designs onto fabric.
Katie will demonstrate all the key techniques needed, including how to create your own designs ready for the screen, how to prepare screens for printing using hand-cut paper stencils, hand drawn images and digitally printed positives, mixing inks and more. You’ll then have the opportunity to play with colour and your own designs to create your very own printed fabric.
Katie will be on hand to offer 1-2-1 advice throughout specific to your projects and what you want to achieve. You’ll leave feeling super inspired and with a square meter piece of fabric printed with your very own design to take home.
